Statement
I am because we are
entangled in a 'dance' with living beings, objects, materials, interventions and ideas which I call 'the other(s)'
Meeting 'the other' intrigues me
It may open new perspectives and/or possibilities
I declare the importance of the little, the vulnerable itself
Make room for trying, failing, losing, searching, deconstructing, unbecoming and not knowing.
I’m always in conversation with ‘the other(s)’
hope to be surprised by them
Work grows organically
till this playful conversation might be firm enough to stand on it's own.
Biography
Born in Woerden, the Netherlands, 1987.
Questions which trigger me are; Who are we? How do we act and what drives us? How are we influenced by the connections and contacts we have, and how do we influence the world around us? Coming from a conservative Christian background, questions about giving meaning to the world around and how these are internalised and externalised are subjects of interest to me.
As a recovery coach in mental health care, I am interested in people and their stories.
As an artist I am also looking, not only for the stories of people but also the stories of objects, materials and or other creatures.
From this background I am always looking for interaction and do projects on the interfaces of psychology, art and meaning.
